Detailed Article:

Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that at least 641 Afghan Taliban fighters have been killed and more than 855 injured during the ongoing Operation Ghazab Lil Haq.

The military operation was launched last month after renewed clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, following what Islamabad described as unprovoked attacks from Afghan territory.

According to Tarar, Afghan Taliban forces had opened fire on several locations along the border, prompting Pakistan to launch a strong military response.

In an update posted on his official account on X, the minister said Pakistani security forces had inflicted heavy losses on Taliban positions during the operation.

He said that 243 check posts used by Afghan Taliban fighters had been destroyed so far, while another 42 posts were captured by Pakistani forces and later demolished.

Tarar added that the operation had also resulted in the destruction of 219 tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery pieces belonging to the militants.

The minister said Pakistani forces also carried out air strikes targeting multiple locations inside Afghanistan.

According to him, a total of 65 sites across Afghanistan were successfully targeted during air operations conducted as part of the ongoing campaign.

Pakistan has described the operation as a response to cross-border attacks and a necessary step to protect its territorial security.

Authorities say the operation continues as security forces aim to neutralise militant threats along the frontier and prevent further attacks on Pakistani territory.
